FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only work on sailboats?+

Sailing craft are our specialty, but we welcome all vessels.

Do you do upholstery?+

We take on upholstery as part of a larger refit rather than as one-off projects. That said, please still reach out. We can sometimes fit standalone work into gaps in production.

What's your lead time?+

Typically a minimum of 8 weeks from a confirmed deposit. Rush work may be available for a surcharge. For summer projects, we strongly recommend reaching out no later than February 1.

Where are you based, and what's your service area?+

Our service area is Newport County and Bristol, Rhode Island. Work elsewhere in Rhode Island and New England is welcome and may carry a travel surcharge based on distance.

Do you travel?+

Yes. We travel domestically and internationally for on-site fitting and installation, and some fabrication can be done on location.

How does pricing work?+

Deposits are 50% to book production and 50% on delivery. Smaller projects may be billed in full at order. Pricing reflects the complexity of the design, not just labor and materials. It comes down to judgment as much as fabrication: the ability to engineer a solution that doesn't exist yet, built to a standard most makers can't match.
